About the Oxley PDA

Declaration of the PDA provides an opportunity for the accelerated delivery of innovative and best practice urban design on the site with the construction of a new residential community within a bushland setting, retirement/ageing in place alternative and integrated community facilities, and the relocation of the existing C&K Yuingi child care centre.

The Oxley site was identified under the state government’s Advancing our cities and regions strategy as an exemplar urban renewal precinct.

Since 2016 EDQ has been working with the Oxley community to explore the best land use options for the unused site to address local needs and to provide the neighbourhood with a functional and vibrant space.

Details of all community engagement activities undertaken to date and a range of frequently asked questions are available on this site.

    Registrations of Interest are being called for the delivery of an aged-care precinct within the Oxley Priority Development Area (PDA).

    Minister for State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning, Cameron Dick said this is a great opportunity for a developer or potential buyer to get involved in delivering suitable housing options for our ageing population.

    “We are seeking interest from the market for the sale and delivery of a retirement village, independent living, aged-care facility or a combination of these on a 1.45-hectare parcel of land in the 19-hectare PDA,” Mr Dick said.

    A tender has now opened for the Oxley Priority Development Area (PDA), with the state government releasing a demolition tender.

    Minister for State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning Cameron Dick said he strongly encouraged the private sector to get involved in this exciting opportunity to work with the state government’s specialist land use planning and property development unit, Economic Development Queensland (EDQ).

    “Preparation works including the removal of any asbestos materials and service disconnections will be planned and managed with the utmost care and safety on the site prior to demolition”, said Mr Dick.
