New community centre for Yeronga PDA
A development application for the construction of a new community centre in the Yeronga Priority Development Area (PDA) has been approved.
The approved development application, lodged on 31 January 2022, delivers on a 2017 state government election commitment to provide a permanent home for the Yeronga Community Centre in the PDA.
The centre will be home to Community Plus (operator of the Yeronga Community Centre), as well as community interest groups - Annerley Stephens History Group and All Gauge Model Railway Club. It will offer a place for the community to develop connections and gain easy access to valuable social and support services.
Locals will see movement on the site from October 2022 when works are expected to start to create internal roads and lots. Construction of the centre is scheduled to begin in November 2022 and with an expected completion date of July 2023, subject to weather conditions.
