Construction Update: May 2023

Bellwether has provided the following construction update:

Main Site (Cnr of Park Rd and Villa St)

The first phase is mobilisation and site set up, this involves the delivery of; equipment, site amenities and materials. This can be expected from early May and will cause and increase in activity and noise in the area from heavy vehicles and workers. Traffic control measures will be put in place on to ensure a safe work environment, this will move the fencing on boundary of the site out to the kerb and the footpath will be closed on Park Rd. Expect a reduction in speed limit in the area and potential delays during construction, footpath closures can be expected on both Park Rd and Villa St. From early May residents can expect to hear noises from construction equipment and trucks as we clear the site and then move onto the remediation and earthworks. Bellwether has committed to the monitoring and controlling of construction noise as per our approved plan, which is in accordance with the plan requirements set out by Economic Development Queensland (EDQ). Bellwether has also committed to the construction hours provided to us by EDQ.

Park Rd and Ovendean St Works

We are expecting to commence works on Park Rd and Ovendean St in late May, depending weather and subcontractor availability. This will impact traffic and pedestrians on Park Rd, Ovendean St and Park Rd with traffic lane and footpath closures. During these works there will be additional noise from demolition and construction activities. These works will move down Ovendean St and eventually impact the traffic and pedestrians on Fairfield Rd.
