Construction Update February 2019

Above ground demolition on the Villa St Yeronga development site is close to completion. The demolition contractor, Rosenlund Deconstruction Civil Engineering, will now begin the process of moving equipment from the site as the demolition work progresses to completion in mid-March. Rosenlund has advised this will be conducted over a few stages in the coming weeks with all attempts made to minimise disruption to the community.

The first major piece of equipment to be moved will be a large excavator. The excavator will be loaded on to a steel float and driven by a single truck using the route outlined above. The truck will pass down Park Road, along School Road, down Cardross Street, then on to Fairfield Road.

To minimise the impact of the relocation on local traffic and to help ensure the safety of local residents this move will occur in the early hours of Thursday morning (21 February 2019), at approximately 3am. The excavator will be loaded into place during normal working hours, however it is possible that residents may hear some noises when the truck leaves the site. The truck will also be accompanied by two pilot vehicles with flashing lights. It is anticipated that the truck will be off site in less than thirty minutes and will then pass down the route indicated.

Ensuring community safety and any disruption is minimised are the two key priorities. This relocation process will be conducted in accordance with the relevant legislation, regulation and guidelines.
