A review of the Wide Bay Burnett Regional Plan is underway.
The existing plan was released in 2011. It's being reviewed to respond to the region’s changing economy and projected population increase. The review will also identify possible land use, infrastructure and industry development levers.
Wide Bay Burnett is home to nearly 300,000 people. With its enviable lifestyle, more people are expected to call the area home in the future. View the full economic profile.
This means more infrastructure, jobs and services need to be delivered for the region in a sustainable way.
The new plan will have economic strategy at its heart. It will provide a 25-year planning framework for the direction of Wide Bay Burnett.
Community members will be invited to share their ideas for the future of the region and participate in a number of community events when a draft plan is released.
