Over the next 20 years, this 304-hectare precinct will transform from an industrial area into a vibrant riverside precinct which stretches 2.5 kilometres along the Brisbane River.
For 100 years the wharves at Hamilton were the place Queensland exported its best to the world. Now Northshore Brisbane operates a different shipping schedule. Just six kilometres from the CBD you'll find luxury river homes and apartments fit for a captain, a hub of experiential arts and cultural experiences you'll want to write home about, and some of the most exciting cuisines in the world. This iconic stretch of water is transforming from working dock, into Brisbane's immersive riverfront.
Northshore Brisbane is also a new business district, a hub of business innovation, from start-ups to global giants.
Lastly, Northshore Brisbane has been identified as the home of the Brisbane Athletes' Village for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Northshore Brisbane's prime waterfront location and its proximity to the CBD, competition and training venues, and transport connections makes it an ideal location to host over 10,000 athletes and team officials for the Olympic Games and over 5,000 athletes and team officials for the Paralympics.

Stage 1 Waterfront Development update
Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Linkedin Email this linkFollowing a State Government announcement in August 2020, works have commenced onsite to begin improved access to the Northshore riverfront, a core component of delivering a destination for innovation, enterprise and creativity. The Stage 1 Waterfront Development will include a collection of unique fit-for-purpose interim spaces that embrace the area’s port heritage. These spaces will include a facility for the creative arts, a containerised community for scale-up innovation and ecommerce enterprises with a central riverfront parkland.
Over the coming months visitors to Northshore will see earthwork activity, with some building upgrades and new build scheduled for later in 2021.
