The Northshore community will soon enjoy an upgraded with Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) purchasing the service station site adjacent to the park to allow for expansion, and inviting locals to have their say on the new design.

The recently released design, which is available for comment, includes a $10 million transformation with a sprawling lawn and impressive fig garden, a picnic area, a dog park and water play facilities.

Plans for the park also include a village green in the centre of the park, large enough for cricket or football games and with facilities for open air, amphitheatre style entertainment. The proposed park will also feature extensive greenery, mirroring the tree studded boulevards planned to border it.

Hercules Street Park will be increased in size and upgraded to include:

  • Fig garden
  • Picnic areas
  • Fitness and
  • recreation areas
  • Village green
  • Kiosk and bike hub
  • Junior playground
  • Water play area
  • Dog park
