Dunwich (Goompi) Master Plan

The Dunwich (Goompi) Master Plan is one of the 23 Queensland Government initiatives under the North Stradbroke Island Economic Transition Strategy which aim to diversify and expand North Stradbroke Island’s (Minjerribah’s) economy. The master plan will seek to:

  • identify areas for future residential, commercial, community, environmental and industrial land uses
  • explore ways to better tell the Quandamooka story to visitors
  • identify necessary upgrades to infrastructure and services to improve liveability
  • acknowledge and respect cultural, social and environmental values
  • enhance the town’s role and appeal as a tourism-friendly destination and gateway to Minjerribah.

The Queensland Government is committed to developing the master plan through ongoing engagement with the local community, Traditional Owners, local business owners and visitors. In the first stage of the ongoing process, numerous community meetings will be held so you can:

  • have your say about the matters that are important to you and your community around the future of Dunwich (Goompi), including One Mile
  • get an update on the project’s scope, progress and next steps
  • meet the Queensland Government planners working on the project.

A number of community meetings will be held in October 2018.
